A Shoe Shine Sales Strategy

Selling comes from within. It’s difficult to sell something if you don’t believe in it, don’t understand it or feel it. Prospects may not be able to put a finger on it but, your sales numbers will tell the story.

It’s funny, but how you act or feel says more to a prospect than the words you choose to describe your product. I think it was Mark Twain who said, “Who he was being spoke so loudly, I couldn’t hear what he was saying.”

So, where am I going with this? Anytime you are going out there to make some sales, ask yourself these three questions. Am I passionate about what I am selling? Do I understand what my target client wants and needs? And, do I feel good about yourself today?

For some that last one’s the problem. It’s tough to be on 24/7 so you’ve got to come up with your thing, a thing that makes you stand up a little straighter and walk with a little more bounce in your step, a thing that makes you feel good about yourself.

For me, it’s pretty simple. I get my shoes shined. I don’t know why, but few things make me feel better about going out there and knocking some doors down like a good shoe shine. Get passionate about what you sell, find out what your marketing wants and find you thing!

    You can also sell very good if you are pathological liar:)) That works very, but you might end up in hospital because of unsatisfied customers, so... Don't know which is best choice here:))

    Hadn't thought of the word trigger but I like it. That's exactly what it is. Haircut was high on my list, new tie, biscuits and gravy (oh, wait, that last one is for when I lose the sale.)

    I thought I was the only one who used a trigger like this.

    I only do it for really big sales presentations. I go get a haircut and tell my barber to " make me look like a winner ."

    Since success breeds success, I feel like the better I feel about myself, the better my client will feel about me.
