  • Put an Amazon Store On Your Site Today

Amazon.com launched a new affiliate tool this week called aStore.

This tool allows you to create your own themed Amazon store and embed the store on your web site. The tool is very easy to use and allows you to create a site complete with product reviews and full product descriptions. They have even added some widgets that automatically display lists and similar items. There have always been ways to display lots of Amazon content on your web site, but this is a much more robust and easy to implement option.

You can create your own template page and embed the store or Amazon will create a URL that you can link to. Either implementation allows you to choose items, categories, subcategories and some layout and look options, including uploading a logo.

The best implementation, embedding the store on your own pages, needs a little iframe coding, something that is not explained on Amazon’s site, but you can get a decent iframe tutorial here.

Here is an example of a small business store on my site and here is an example of the linked URL that Amazon will host if you don’t want to build you own page.

It’s a new service, so expect some bugs, but Amazon is very good about fixing them. I noticed for now that some images are not showing up in IE for example, making it a little hard for people to actually buy what they are viewing.

Thanks for the information! I hope that they allow multiple stores in the future, as it would be nice to create a separate store for multiple product pages.
    • I like the aStore concept but bots can't spider iframes.

I've written a small, free downloadable PHP script (at www.adbabel.com/astore-seo/ ) so bots can crawl aStore's as if hosted on the affilate's site.

It's pretty easy to set up so please try it out and let me know if it's helpful or not.

    • aStore in iFrames approach has several unresolvable problems. In any case aStore in iFrame is cutted or has double scrollbars or has a lot of free space bellow it or all the problems together. Modern way of aStore integration is aStore proxy. <a href="http://www.storebrander.com/" rel="nofollow">StoreBrander.com aStore SEO proxy allows to solve problems above and have other helpful features.
    • thsi a good information
    • You can create your own template page and embed the store or Amazon will create a URL that you can link to.
