  • Frequently Unasked Questions

FAQ pages present laser information in a format that allows the user to get just what they were looking for.

The problem though is that often prospects don’t know what they don’t know. I think it is equally important to frame the education around your products and services with the answers to the questions they didn’t know to ask. This approach also can allow you to show them how to buy your category of service, what questions they should be asking competitors or their current provider and specifically how to get the most from your very unique approach.

You might even consider creating an FUQ page in your marketing materials and on your web site.

Claudia Wicks writes Agent CEO a very good blog aimed at helping real estate agents grow their business and she recently had a post that touched on this idea.

    • Thanks for the information and links>
    • One of the hardest parts of creating a FAQ or FUQ page is knowing what to put on there as a business.

We all think that we answer the right questions, but by the fact that websites get emails from customers asking general questions, either we don't always have all the right ones or we are not good at getting visitors to those pages.

Something else that I find even more annoying, and it usually occurs with very large sites, is trying to answer every conceivable question in the FAQ area. It makes it virtually impossible to actually find what you are looking for, and most visitors either leave or go straight to contacting the business. This is completely counter-productive to the concept of a FAQ page.
    • And then there's the pronunciation problem. I don't think FUQ will be a popular abbreviation.

I was wondering when someone was going to get that one.

Boy, Friday can be a little slow.
    • Just got to read this at the end of a long work day-to-eve. "FUQ"? Thanks for ending my week with a LOL!

      Denise,

Just glad to be there for you!
    • What a great idea John!! One of our biggest challenges in promoting our Corporate Podcast Production service is one of education. Our potential customers don't even know where to begin with their questions about our service.

Placing an "FAQ" section on our blog would go a long way in providing a frame of reference for potential podcast clients.

Thanks again for another great post!

      Tony
    • I think that is a great idea instead of faq to put a FUQ and it sounds funny too.
