I received this email from a reader today and, I’ve got to tell you, it took my breath away.

Here is a bit of the content.
“I am interested in buying your book but being a single mom of two young kids (attempting to start a business while working full time and going back to school in January), I can’t splurge on anything for myself right before the holidays.”

Okay, I know how hard I work on my business and as a parent and I know how hard my wife works too. So, pulling off what my reader described in her note makes her superwoman if you ask me.

You bet I’m sending her a book and I would like to find another 25 single mom entrepreneurs who could use the support, recognition and tiny bit of marketing help a gratis copy of Duct Tape Marketing might bring. Please pass this post on to any SMEs you know (hit the email this post link at the top of the post) or drop me a line (see the email john link in the upper left corner) and tell me about somebody who you think fits the superwoman SME profile. (I think this might make a neat series of interviews)

Wow John, you are a great guy! I need to find some internal funds before January (official book release date) but I will purchase 5 copies to share with my relations in the Netherlands. This way it will be easier for you to support these 25 copies that you are sending out to these super Moms. Hope it helps.

Hi John...

I get similar emails from people saying they'd love to buy my ebook but ... (insert reason here). Some come right out and ask for it for free, but most are not that blatant about it. And you know what? Even if I suspect they are not really as desperate as they sound and are just looking for a freebie, I give it to them. After all, they came to my site looking for help, and I'm in the business of helping people. I'm glad to see that you obviously feel the same way. There are too many online marketers interested only in lining their pockets. Thank you for the refreshing and encouraging post!

What a thoughtful, generous offer, John.

You know the Virtual Assistant profession is mostly comprised of women business owners, most of whom are mothers. I daresay there are probably quite a few who are single moms who set out on the entrepreneurial path to have more control over the quality of their lives and financial futures, to find more empowerment in giving their children the best they can.

I will be letting the members of my organization know. Of course, I rave about you and Duct Tape Marketing quite a bit anyway so many may have already seen your post. ;)

I know a few single moms who would appreciate a copy (I'm giving blogging books to my friends who blog - don't tell). I'm not struggling but it's been quite a journey to get where I am. Hard work! Good thing I love what I do (internet marketing). I'm a single mom. It's what spurned me to be very inventive and persistant.
Thanks for your words...I've determined to help other single moms someday.

oh my goodness, I am a single parent of and have two rolls of duct tape in my car..also worked great in repair of my side window repair (the one electric driver side mirror that , if i could afford to fix would be hundreds..but trying to keep a place , if your so kind i would love a book and then will share with several other young single entrepreneurs ,,,thank you in advance..sincerely ann wilson
