Using a Wiki is one of the most useful tools we use when dealing with off-site consultants and clients.

An excellent service that also includes to-do lists, milestones and other great features is Basecamp @ www.basecamphq.com. They let you set up one project for free.

In the mid to late 90's we created an online community for professionals in our industry to share info, knowledge and ideas. Early on our discussion involved telling folks about computers and explaining what the Internet actually was.

The same held true for blogs. "What's a blog?" Is the response I would get from offline biz acquaintances.

I think Wiki's have awesome potential...if we can get around the eight year learning curve for folks who don't read Scoble and Creating Passionate Users. To be brutally honest, I'm a little tired of explaining what blogs are and have no desire to start on Wiki's.

btw John, I saw a review of your book in the Tampa Bay Business Journal and decided to check back in here at your blog. (I've probably been visiting periodically since 03)

Being a part of the fast-growing wiki website, the WikiMusicGuide, I personally believed that wiki tool has really helped us in bridging the gap of the online music community from various part of the world. It allows us to express our thoughts and have our piece of the puzzle to come up with an amazing page for our idols. As you know, WikiMusicGuide is dedicated on music and we are aiming to make an important connection between fans and their idols. Hence, wiki is a great tool that will make it happen.
