My findings lead me to conclude that there is a resurgence of local classified ad sites. I have been developing businesses and marketing for Internet start-ups for the past 14 years and I have seen interest in classified ad sites come and go. However my recent findings show an aggressive trend to duplicate the success of Craiglist but not only on large social sites but on local news and community portals as well. Even the software application developers are turning out new and improved clones of Craiglist as well as MySpace clones. Many of the applications that I reviewed and compared in my study of local Internet marketing revealed that many of the Blog community software emulating MySpace or YouTube.com now include classified ads or offer modules. So in conclusion with the advent of these applications being readily available I do think we will see more and more portals, competitors, and social sites offering free local classified ads.
