Started my own community newspaper a little more than 2 years ago with a simple mission - cater to the "mom & pop" advertisers and communicate only good news content! Next month my second community publication will be out on the streets. I'd have to agree with you that the Biz Journals, while great publications, seem to cater more to larger businesses and at least in my area they slant heavy to real estate. What would you consider a "small business" in relation to this post? One with under 100 employees? Under __ $ in annual revenue?
