I just downloaded a very lightweight and functional screen recorder program called the Jing Project. The program is from TechSmith, the makers of Camtasia - a very robust screen recorder program.
The think I like about it is its ease of use for sharing little videos of you doing something on your computer. I get lots of questions from readers about how to use some technology and this gives me a way to provide very graphic (video and audio) answers without spending much time. Once I capture the video and audio instructions I simply save and the program uploads and streams the video in conjunction with screencast.com. Then it gives me a link to share.
Here’s a quick example from a real question I fielded.
