Yahoo! Local got the face lift treatment going around on all of the Yahoo! properties these days but this improvement is more than skin deep. Yahoo! has a knack for leveraging all of their various properties and this becomes apparent in Yahoo! Local with the integration of its Groups, Maps, Events (Upcoming), Classifieds, Personals, News and hotjobs offerings into the Local Directory pages. You can even see geo-tagged flickr photos on the “Plan You Weekend” page. I think this raises the bar for all of the local directories.

Local Search is prepared to take a big social and community building leap forward so don’t miss out.
1. Get your business listed with Yahoo! Local
2. Get in there and get some favorable reviews from customers!

Looks great but strangly only the US site has been updated. The UK version is still the old design and options :(

why would your users care if a link is the "3rd most popular link"?

Between those and the SnapShots hoverboxes, I can't find my pointer to click on the original link.

Eric, Not every user cares, but many find information about what other readers are clicking on is useful. Same with the SnapShots - some love them, some don't - maybe I'll take a poll some day.
