Social networks are something that I believe small business folks should tap. Some offer small businesses more than others, but you’ve got to get in there and find ways to use these growing resources.
One of the ways to get started or more involved is to connect with people you know and trust. Here’s a list of the social networks that I use the most and links to each that will allow you to follow, friend and connect with what I’m doing on each. Check them out and connect with me if you wish.
- LinkedIn - Business networking
- StumbleUpon - Web site sharing
- Flikr - Photo sharing
- Slideshare - Slide presentation sharing
- delicious - Bookmark sharing
- Facebook - Social networking
- Twitter - Micro blogging
- Workbench - Duct Tape Marketing community
- YouTube - Video sharing
- Digg - News sharing

Consider yourself stalked
John, nice site and informative posts. Little typo on the post “LinkedIn” instead of LindedIn.
Appreciate all your hard work,

John,
I highly recommend friendfeed.com to aggregate your passive communications.
It was created by Paul Buchheit, the creator of Gmail, and it rocks. It uses the APIs of various social sites, plus a Google-style webcrawler to put all your activity from social sites into one feed for your friends’ viewing pleasure. It even adds comments, so your friends can respond to things that don’t normally have that feature, like del.icio.us bookmarks.
I could go on, but it’s best to just see it in action at http://www.friendfeed.com
You can see mine at friendfeed.com/jraines or embedded in my website.
It’s in private beta right now but you can probably get an invite right away if you request an account.
Note — I’m not affiliated in any way except that I’m a happy user and I think friendfeed is the best thing since del.icio.us!
[…] Do With All These Web Sites" award goes to John Jantsch at Duct Tape Marketing for his brief Let’s Get More Social article. Sometimes I think Social Networks should be the butt of the joke we used to tell in […]
