tech support 360With each new advancement in connectivity and mobility outsourcing the hard stuff just gets easier and easier for the small business. In a recent episode of the Duct Tape Marketing podcast I turn once again to Tom Wilson, Executive Director of AT&T’s Small Business Group, to talk about small business IT stuff.

I am so impressed with a recent offering from AT&T small business that I have to start recommending it to anyone who will listen. The offering called TechSupport360 just may be the small business owner’s dream come true.

With a subscription to TechSupport360 small business owners pay a per seat monthly fee to get access to all kinds of tech support. The basics, such as configuring software, removing spyware and tuning up a computer can be handled by giving the tech access to your machine, but the part I absolutely love about this offering is the ability to get help with PowerPoint or Word files or adding a new email signature to an Outlook account.

With online services from AT&T Tech Support 360SM, businesses save valuable time by receiving the technical support you need, when you need it. We cover everything from spyware and virus removal to software installation, network and security setup, maintaining your mobile devices, and increasing your PC’s performance.

The cost range is $19-28 per computer per month, but the upper end Premium Plus plan comes with unlimited data backup and software program usage training making it the best buy in my opinion.

Rumor has it that Mac support will be available before the end of the year!

AT&TThis episode of the Duct Tape Marketing podcast is brought to you by att.com/onwardsmallbiz. Resources for the small business owner.

    • Have you heard of MinuteFix? It's tech support...by the minute. At $.99 per minute, it's even less expensive than AT&T, and it's totally on demand. I'm a little biased as an advisor for the company, but I think it's worth taking a look at.

@Phil - thanks for stopping by Phil and adding the resource to the mix. I'm a little biased as well since AT&T; sponsors my podcast, but I'm not sure I get your math. I pay $28/mo which gets me unlimited support and unlimited file backups. On a per minute resource that would get me 28 minutes of support per month. So far I would lose out big on a per minute gig but maybe I'm kind of needy.
    • John, I listen to the podcast and think what they're doing is great. It mimicks what New Marketing is about, help me help you.
    • I have never used an online service and lately been getting hit over the head with the opportunites out there. Good target marketing, I am step a way from doing it but the technical support may be the side that I needed to swing my vote

It seems there must be a zillion of these things and what distinguishes them seem to be pretty minor. This podcast helped me sort through the clutter a little. Timely information for me, thanks!
    • Your blog looses all credibility when you become a paid pitchman.

@Seth - Oh c'mon lighten up - my readers have come to understand that while I need to make a living I will never try to push something that I don't in fact use and believe in. There, my credibility is all fixed again.
    • There is nothing out there to loose market creditability by promoting companies news on own blog, even it's helpful to those who really seeking these services rather than commenters.
    • If you're a small business owner and dread technological problems you should get a Mac. If you're an online company, you'll probably need a Mac to ensure your online product plays nice with this quickly growing group of computer users.

The important thing to know is that small business owners can't pre-occupy themselves with unreliable machines/hardware. I've worked with several online startups and I can honestly say that anything Windows-based (i.e. XP/Vista) will be more of a headache than a comparably-priced Mac OS X.
    • I think all businesses in new era will become virtual companies with unique cutting edges. Outsourcing IT helps small companies to focus on their core competencies.. Also promoting companies make nothing but help people thinking about that kind of service use.

I came across a site called www.24conference.com. They help companies save money and time with their innovative conference call services. This is perfect for companies that are trying to cut expenses.
