    Free Marketing Plans

I happen to think that a marketing plan, one that you use as a plan of action, is an essential tool to guide your business to achieve your vision. That’s why I partnered with Palo Alto Software to create Marketing Plan Pro powered by Duct Tape Marketing. But, that’s not really the reason for this post.

The real reason I bring this up today is to point out a killer resource from Palo Alto that you may not be familiar with. The site is called mPlans and it’s full of sample marketing plans and other great start-up advice for just about every imaginable industry.

When writing a marketing plan you do want it to be original and authentic, but having some sample plans to use for guidance can help you get going.

    • A terrific resource, thanks for sharing it with the community! @bizcoachdeb
    • Mplans looks like a solid resource for small businesses to get started with a simple plan. It helps to have an outline to work from, then let the creative juices flow to customize it for your business.
    • Having a template to work from is a great starting point, but ensuring you are implementing the plan and reaching all touch points collectively and consistently with the same message is something software can’t truly give you. For those small businesses and start ups that don’t have the money to spend to hire a marketing firm or consultant to develop a plan for them, mPlan seems like it might be a good starting point. To ensure your marketing plan will truly give you the results you desire and help you meet your business objectives and goals, having a marketing resource - whether that be an employee, firm or consultant - to hold you accountable and see that you accomplish what you have outlined is priceless. I’ve seen too many “plans’ written by business owners who invest time to get it right, but then the plan sits on the shelf and collects dust.
