  • Making Sense of Social Media for Your Business

verticalrespsonseMy good friends at Vertical Response are hosting a webinar this Friday, Jan 23 at 10 am PST titled – Making Sense of Social Media for Your Business.

This is, as you know, a subject near and dear to my heart, but this one is really near and dear to my heart because it’s being conducted in part by this really sharp young lady named Jenna Jantsch (yes, that’s my daughter!)

I offered to share my wisdom with her as she prepared, but she declined, I guess some things never change.

Business owners need to tap the power of social media in ways that make sense – keep learning! You can register for the event here

    • I guess that's daughters for you John.
Thanks for making me laugh and I hope it is a huge success for Jenna.
    • Thanks for getting out there and educating folks on the benefits of social networking online.

I run a small business networking firm that manages social networking for our client to free up their time to sell.

      It’s effective and affordable.

Pass on the word if your clients need a social networking manager. And let me know if I can help you in anyway.

Beckett - I would love to hear how someone effectively outsources social networking - I know there are parts that can be automated for volume sake, but would you send someone else to the Chamber meeting to make connections for you?
    • John, you are exactly correcet. Some things just have to be done personally. I'm suggesting the possibility that some of the networking online can actually be done PR agency style. For instance, managing blogs and comments as well as keeping up to date on other blogs and commenting within the business network on someones behalf.

We are set up to specialize in this. Manage image and keep on top of current thought.
    • I'm a marketing/designer, and starting to get my head around social networking and promote it to my clients. We are all small businesses of less than 10 people.

RSS technology is super awesome, but good blog content still has to be written even with prompts, and that takes some time. Not to mention that it also takes time to respond to posts.

I am curious as to how much time (per day or per week) that you and others personally spend on social media - blogging, Twittering, Facebooking, etc. What goals do you personally set for yourself? A blog a day? Twitter twice a day? A number of hours?

Thank you for your blog - it is a great resource! :-)
      L.
    • Laura,

Our agency is also small and we actually specialize in going piece meal through blog lists and commenting for our clients thoughtfully. My background is in social psychology and internet marketing and I would love to be your outsource for some of these projects as a blog representative.

I also build blogs and maintain them.

As for time devoted to social networking a day. Too many! That's why outsourcing is such a necessity to profit.

      Thanks.
