I think that being able to read people's personalities is one of the most important aspects of marketing. This is a great skill to teach people and is unfortunately being lost in our high tech society.

I haven't read Face Values, but it sounds like a great book. I would imagine it elaborates on the following four personality traits and how they influence purchase decisions:

Green - Analytical
"Show me the proof. I need the data."

Blue - Counselor
"How does this make me feel?"

Red - Driver
"Show me the bottom line. How much will it make me?"

Yellow - Social
"If they're doing it, I'll do it."

Great insight. I have always loved this subject and even took art classes to learn how to see better.

Years ago, I bought a software package that allowed me to convert a portrait into a personality profile. It was kind of fun and labor-some but the results were interesting.

you may have forced me into a new read!
