  • Social Media System with Chris Brogan

This is a continuation of my Social Media System Post where I asked other social media users to share what their system looked like (Click here to see all the posts on this)

In this post I was thrilled to find Chris Brogan willing to share his social media routine. Chris is one of the most social, social media users I have encountered and his large following can attest to that.

Chris’s system is frightening overkill for some, but understand that he gets, in his words – (40-60% of my opportunities come from Twitter)

Chris always has something to add to any conversation and you should have his blog at the top of your reading list.

Here’s a point that stuck with me – “In doing the work of defining one’s system, many things come up, and this exercise turned out to be more worth it than I thought.

So, define your system and share it – I’m putting together an ebook on this and would love to include some helpful routines – you don’t need 10,000 twitter followers to share what works for you! Leave it as a comment or post it on your blog and let me know about it.

    • Twitter is such a great tool, but I wish I could figure out the effectiveness of its true potential
    • Participate! That is the system.

If you do not interact with the community you want to be involved with you will never see any positive gains from spending any time on social media.

So, share and share alike and the courtesy will be returned.
    • I don't really have a system because my day varies so much. But I try and check Twitter at least once day, 2-3 times preferably. I also try and spend at least half an hour going through my RSS feeds in Google reader, saving the best posts to Delicious.

Being the marketing, software developer and financial guy in our business I don't spend as time as I would like on social media. Most of the time I spend on marketing is spent on the search engines and our blog.

I have enjoyed reading about these systems because I can see more things I can incorporate into my marketing.
    • of course, twitter start become a means of marketing media that have the power and influence in the world with significant effect now.

for minimum we can use twitter to gathering data or information we needs to collect. This became clear to us. and choose not to use it is a basically wrong.

      Salute to Chris Brogan
    • Chris' system is daunting - but obviously effective.

He does a great job and always has great information / value to add.
    • Everyone needs to have their own unique social media system in place in order to properly reap all the benefits of social media. If done correctly, it could literally account for the majority of your blog's traffic
    • Hey John - really appreciate you and Chris Brogan sharing your experiences with social media. The economy is tough and the more we help each other the better off, I think, we will be.

I actually own a small business and use social media for all of my connecting, marketing, and promo. Here is the link to my social media system:

Thanks again, and hope you have a great weekend!
    • Thanks for this article, social media systems continue to grow. And with more and more research carried out on users expectations on the social media platform people are becoming aware and using it to its full potential. I respects Chris's opinion and think he's doing a great job.
    • Chris is a lunatic, but it shows what can be done! He's got some awesome stuff on his blog, I highly recommend it! The current Sandisk post is a very good one, with the twist in the tail serving to highlight the precarious economic climes we find ourselves in.
