I would like to nominate Yates Barber Shop (<a href="http://www.yatesbarbershop.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.yatesbarbershop.com</a>). The owner Tommy Upton is one of the warmest hearted people I know. His business has been open for nearly 70 years now and it still brings that “down home” barber shop feel to the community. About one year ago I lost my job when the economy went down and for the past year Mr. Upton has been providing me with free haircuts. This may not seem like a lot but when you are strapped for money every little bit helps and he didn’t have to be asked he does it because he wants to help. The quality of the work is phenomenal and every member of the staff are cheerful and there because they want to be and because they enjoy what they do. I have also witnessed Mr. Upton and staff helping families with small children that are having problems with the economy as well. In closing I would just like to say that Mr. Upton’s willingness to help the community in need, quality of staff and work, and dedication to his work makes Yates Barber Shop and awesome small business.

Still now i have decided anything about that. But am the person who is looking for my business which is going down now. But what you are doing here is a good idea and will allows people to communicate with one another.<br><a href="http://www.fancyfelinesclevercanines.com/cat-trees-and-cat-condos.aspx" rel="follow" rel="nofollow">cat trees</a>

I would like to nominate Karen Crever for her revolutionary skin/scalp care treatments "SCALP SYSTEMS". I have had an extremely oily scalp ever since becoming a teenager and am also very sensitive to chemicals, which means everytime I shampoo, my hands are full of hair that is shocked out of my scalp I have tried every known shampoo/conditioner/ thickener/hair regrowth shampoo or system out there, to no avail. By the time I entered my 30's, my hair was so thin that you could see my scalp all over the top of my head, and the 'shine'. Then, at the age of 43, I met Karenand within a month of treatments my friends began to say "What are you doing with your hair, it looks soooo good"? And, "It is so full"! I went to her to see if she could help me with my scalp condition, and low and behold I now after only a few months of treatments, Ihave a full head of hair. I no longer cringe at photos of my self because I don't see my scalp anymore, just a nice, normal head of hair. Thank you Karen, Thank You, THANK YOU!

Thank you for the opportunity to nominate my wife, Robyn Quinter, graphic designer extraordinaire and president/owner of Quinter Design (www.quinterdesign.com). In addition to providing distinctive and creative designs for her clients, Robyn has donated hundreds of hours of top caliber pro bono work to local charities and non-profits.

Robyn currently serves as president of the board of directors of the Maryland Coalition of Families for Children’s Mental Health, a statewide non profit. She also was appointed by the governor to the Citizens Advisory Board of the John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents, a residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally challenged children. She has served on the board of directors of our local Olney (Maryland) Chamber of Commerce as vice president, program chair and Community Night chair. Robyn is also a member of the Class of 2008 of the Maryland Family Leadership Institute.

Quinter Design is on a mission to rid the world of unattractive and ineffective marketing materials. Robyn and the firm are well known for their attention to detail and their talent for matching clients with designs and documents that generate attention and profits. The firm’s clientele ranges from small start-up enterprises to federal government agencies.

The firm has extended its mission to help several area non-profit organizations bolster their public profiles. These include the Montgomery Alliance for Community Giving, Threshold Services, Peerless Rockville Historic Preservation, Olney HELP, the Sandy Spring Museum, Rockville Express baseball and Brooke Grove Retirement Village.

Robyn was the 2008 recipient of the Greater Olney-Sandy Spring ATHENA Award, and has been honored by several business and professional organizations and non-profits. Currently in a growth mode, Robyn and Quinter Design are deserving candidates to benefit from the small business start-up kit to upgrade their equipment and enhance productivity.

I humbly nominate myself. 6 years ago I developed a holistic, non medical concept for fungal and yeast related scalp issues. SCALP SYSTEMS "Skin Care for the Scalp" Therapies successfully controls problematic scalp conditions, with the unique side effect of hair regrowth. 8 months ago my computer crashed leaving me to borrow others computers to continue my work. I am on the cusp of taking this to the public, making my need for the startup kit imparative. There is no cure, but these conditions can be managed. So many who suffer dermatitis conditions of the scalp will benefit from my bringing this new alternative to the public. My patent is in review, and I'm ready to take my concept to the next level.

I'd like to nominate Alaina Frederick as her family is currently in financial crisis. Husband needs back surgery and as a mom of 3 and blogger, she is trying to make ends meet - they are desperately trying to make rent money for March 1. This would be a great bonus for her business. see her story at http://www.wahmtalkradio.com/blog/
