Your emphasis on value rather than volume is appreciated! Just signing up for a lot of affiliate programs, as you point out, won't work well. I have found that I can only promote affiliates that I truly believe in. Otherwise marketing comes across as phony or "just trying to make a buck." You are a fabulous voice of value and reason in a "make a quick buck" world.

I've found strategic partnerships to be a great way to get our product in front of a lot more prospects. Your idea starters has my mind churning on a few more ways to tackle this.

Finding mutually beneficial ways to strengthen your partnerships can not only a good way to meet new prospects, but a good way to continue to provide greater value to customers you and your partners already work with. Acclaimed marketer, Seth Godin, has said it is a good idea to promote your specialization to prospects – so why not partners too? We’re at our best when we are doing the things we do well and that we love. Talk with your business partners about where you plan to focus your business and how together you can package your services to better meet the needs of your customers. Value can’t be denied.

Great ideas. I've also partnered with competitors when I've thought that the combined 'weight' or advantage made sense (making a small business seem bigger is useful for some contracts).

I think this post is right on. I wrote a similar one about a week ago about looking at possible partnership opportunities. Ideas like these can go a long way to building a business successfully and sustainably. It is important to realize that there are opportunities in every business relationship if you are willing to look for them.

I like these ideas John for networking opportunities. Seldom are people really looking to trade contacts but if you could create free offers to give them and leave their customers test your products while helping them, that could work!

One other key that you mention: "Package of products and services that turn prospect’s heads." That is the real ticket, isn't it?
