  • Answering Marketing Questions on MSNBC

    I was in New York last week and stopped into the NBC studios to be a guest on “Your Business” a show that airs each Sunday. Below is a clip of one of the segments.

    FYI – stayed a great new hotel called The Standard in West Village and had a killer view looking south down the Hudson all the way to the Statue of Liberty.

    • Hey John;

      Nice job! Too bad you couldn't get into social media (beyond blogging).

    • John, How could someone not leave you finish talking about Blogs!;) Good solid answers by both panelist.
    • Nice job. Good segment.

      It's too bad that it's sort of rapid fire, get your answer in 20 seconds type of format. Would have been nice to hear you share a few ways that someone can differentiate their small business.

      Target market focus;
      Specific Problems/challenges you address focus;
      Outcomes you produce focus;
      Unique delivery method focus;
      Unique pricing focus;

      Or better yet, some combination of the above. It works into a powerful marketing message when you know how to do it.

      It just would have been cool to hear you have a little more time to explain some of your answers like this.

      Still, well done. Thanks for sharing.

      All my Best!
      Kevin

      The segment did just what I imagine the intent was, to whet my appetite for more information from you. Now I am here on your blog reading.
      Great marketing! And, thanks for a great, informative, site.
    • Spoken like a pro John, I agree with thing such as you advice for the home cleaning business. WOM (Word of Mouth) is the best way to start.
    • Great video with wonderful information.
