There are 2 or more caregivers with the children at all times(even at naptime).
The children are not allowed to fight. (visit us to witness this)
Wholesome- We have no television.
Our books, songs, games, etc. build character.
Mature adults guard and guide all activities.
Our daycare facility is thoroughly cleaned every evening.
Christian- We believe that people were created by God.
Every client and every child is treated with dignity.
Every child is led toward reaching their God-given potential.
Who we are: Precious Children opened its doors in January, 2008. After 20 years experience of raising our family of 7 children and many years of babysitting for family and friends, we decided to start a licensed daycare. This allows us to share our love for children and our experience of working with children to a larger and more diverse group of people.
In less than a year, we have been privileged to serve clients from many different backgrounds and walks of life. We have children whose parents have come from Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Sri Lanka, China, Colombia, and more. Their parents work in Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Occupations include the food industry, court interpreters, lawyers, secretaries, university students and teachers. We are pleased to say that even though we have lost clients through job transfers, moves, etc. we have not lost a client through dissatisfaction.
Because we take children as young as six weeks, we have had the opportunity to potty-train children and firmly ground them in the English language. Our license limits us to 12 children. Our youngest daycare child came at 10 weeks, our oldest daycare child is 4 years old. This range of ages and our small group size allows for a healthy, family atmosphere.
What we hope to become: In less than one year, we have earned a reputation for excellent care in a family environment. We are working and planning to become one of the cleanest, most gentle, most family-oriented daycares in NYC. We are taking steps toward a consistent, effective advertising program.
Of course, our best advertisement has been the referrals of our satisfied clients, but we believe that there are many more people who are looking for the very thing that we offer. We hope to enlarge, not by increasing our numbers at this location, but by increasing our number of locations. Within the next 5 years, we hope to open 2 more locations in nearby neighborhoods. We plan to do this in a very thoughtful, careful manner. We will not move ahead with this plan until we are convinced that our level of care will increase as our numbers increase. We are fortunate to have a pool of potential, future caregivers that have excellent reputations. We are convinced that with God’s help, the help of excellent caregivers, and help of excellent clients we can reach our goals. Come grow with us!
